To ensure the health and well-being of the citizens of Pecos by providing good water quality from the well fields in accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). In 1994, the City authorized a private firm to conduct an evaluation of the two well fields to identify and evaluate alternative sources of water supply. After the evaluation and based on data provided by this firm, the Town of Pecos City constructed 17 new water wells from 2000 to 2005.
