The Pecos Animal Shelter has been awarded a $20,000 Rachael Ray No-Kill Excellence Grant from Best Friends Animal Society to support lifesaving efforts for dogs and cats in Pecos and the surrounding West Texas area.
This competitive grant will help fund animal transport and emergency veterinary care, allowing the shelter to transport animals to rescue partners and provide critical medical treatment for pets in need. The funding supports the shelter’s ongoing mission to reduce euthanasia and increase positive outcomes for animals in the community.
The Pecos Animal Shelter was selected from hundreds of applicants nationwide as one of only 53 shelters to receive this grant in 2026, recognizing its commitment, innovation, and readiness to save lives.
