Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Commission is composed of 5 members and 2 alternate members of the community appointed by the City Council for two-year or one-year terms. The Commission’s primary responsibility is to make recommendations to the Council regarding land use issues- primary zoning and subdivision plat request. In addition, the Commision is charged with deliberating the merits of changes to the Zoning Ordinance, offering amendments and updates to the Comprehensive Master Plan, suggesting alterations to the Old Pecos City Master Plan, supporting the principles of the newly adopted Town of Pecos City Plan and considering other items related to the physical development of Pecos. As a point of information, if the Commision recommend denial of a zoning case, it takes a super majority (6 out of 7) Council vote to approve the request. The Commision meets a the first Tuesday of each month in open session at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers, 110 E. 6th St. Pecos City Hall.

- Applications are due no later than 5PM on Friday, July 5, 2019.

- To participate, you must be at least one-year resident of Pecos and a registered voter in Pecos.
- Applications for current board members will be considered. All applicants must fill out a new application.
